Sure! While pellet grills are also smokers, you don't have to use the smoking function, you can just turn the pellet grill up to its maximum temperature for grilling/searing steaks and burgers etc.

Now, some pellet grills are better 'grills' than others. Some models may only have a maximum temperature setting of 450 degrees, whereas others have a maximum temperature setting of 700 degrees, and there are many models that feature a maximum temperature setting in between.
