Example Question:
Is a pellet grill worth it?
Pellet grills are above the average cost of a gas grill, and they are much more expensive than the average charcoal grill. This should obviously not be surprising, due to the fact that a pellet grill contains a lot of electrical components. Therefore a pellet grill is more expensive to produce than a gas or charcoal grill.
In terms of whether a pellet grills is 'worth it?', it really depends on how you like to cook your foods. Every pellet grill is first and foremost a pellet smoker. Hence, it has the ability to impart smoke flavor into foods at lower temperature settings beyond just grilling/searing foods.
If you only ever grill and sear your foods, no, I don't think a pellet grill is a wise investment as you wouldn't be taking advantage of the core abilities of a pellet grill.
However, if you are interested in a grill that can provide a low effort and convenient means to impart smoke flavor into your food, that's when you should consider a pellet grill.
Over recent years we have seen a considerable number of new pellet grills come onto the market at a lower price point. You can check out check out all of these models in our database.
