Example Question:
Pellet grill or Kamado?
A Kamado is simply a ceramic BBQ, and while yes, up until now all Kamado grills have been charcoal grills, there are now several pellet Kamado grills. As of writing, we have six ceramic pellet grills/smokers in our database.
The advantages of a Kamado/Ceramic pellet grill over a standard steel pellet grill is as they are so well insulated that can get up to temperature more quickly, they can also typically get to a higher temperature for grilling and they also use less pellets in the process.
The downsides of Kamado/Ceramic pellet grills are that they are generally quite a bit more expensive than a typical steel pellet grill/smoker, and they offer a much smaller cooking area than a conventional pellet grill/smoker of the same price point.
Then again, if you only ever cook for a small number of people at a time a Ceramic pellet grill/smoker is well worth considering if you can get one within your budget.
